Day 2...Runkel and Limberg

Although the time is 9 hrs different we've seem to have adjusted very easily! It's so weird to think that while we are having breakfast it is late evening at home.  Friday morning we were up at 7 and ready for a typical German breakfast. We had tea and orange juice to drink. We had a bread roll with butter and jam, also meat and cheese and then we finished with a soft boiled egg that you dip your bread in. It was all so delicious and very filling!
All of their juices and water come in glass bottles like this.

After breakfast we went to Runkel and toured a burg. Gerhard was able to tell us some neat stories about it and what different rooms were used for.  Burgs were built before castles were. We are very fortunate to have such an in depth look at Germany and all the unique villages and spots in Albach.  For the afternoon we went to Limberg which is the big village around here. It's the sort of place with lots and lots of little shops, cafes and ice cream stands all along the streets. For lunch we ate delicious salads and fresh bread at a little cafe. After lunch we went to see a cathedral which is one of the main things Limberg is famous for. We finished the evening with dinner at the farm with Ralf and Astrid and their family.
